Community Grants
Grants Program & Application Process
“The GCSH’s mission is to stimulate the knowledge and love of gardening and to improve, restore, and protect the quality of the environment through educational programs and projects in the field of conservation and civic improvements.”
It’s with this goal in mind that our Community Grants Program, created to fund initiatives focused on open space and water supply conservation, seeks grant fund applications from organizations sponsoring projects fitting within our mission.
Our program aims to fund specific projects rather than organizations. Priority is given to projects where other sources are either limited or unavailable. At least 75% of funds are allocated within our local community, defined as Somerset, Hunterdon and portions of Morris County, New Jersey. Historically, grant monies have ranged from $150-$1000.
Grant recipients must used their funds within one year of receipt and submit a final report to GCSH detailing the use of the received funds. Final reports should include photos (if applicable) or printed materials. If an organization received funds but did not submit a final report, they will not be considered for an upcoming year grant.
Please click the link to download the application, which must be received by March 15 of the grant year.
Completed applications, along with any supporting documentation, should be emailed to gcofsh@gmail.com (please indicate “Community Grant Application” in the email Subject line).
